In-Person Overnight Weekends

In-person overnight weekends are held at the St. Bernard Abbey Retreat Center in Cullman, AL, or Benedictine Sisters Retreat Center in Cullman, AL. The weekend begins promptly at 8:00 p.m. Friday night and ends around 3:00 p.m. Sunday afternoon. The weekend concludes with Mass. Please plan to arrive at the retreat center between 6:30 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. Friday night in order to register and check-in to your room before the first presentation begins.

The cost to attend an in-person overnight Catholic Engaged Encounter weekend sponsored in the Diocese of Birmingham is:

• $350 per couple
Registration for in-person overnight weekends close 10 days prior to the Friday the weekend starts.

In-Person Day-Only Weekends

In-person day-only weekends are hosted at different parishes in the Diocese of Birmingham. Select one of these weekends near where you live, otherwise overnight accomodations are on your own. The weekend begins promptly at 7:00 p.m. Friday night and ends around 3:00 p.m. Sunday afternoon. The weekend concludes with Mass. Please plan to arrive at the host parish at 6:30 p.m. Friday night in order to register before the first presentation begins.

The cost to attend an in-person day-only Catholic Engaged Encounter weekend sponsored in the Diocese of Birmingham is:

• $200 per couple
Registration for in-person day-only weekends close 10 days prior to the Friday the weekend starts.

Registration and Payment Notices

No engaged couple will be turned away for inability to pay for the registration fee. Please contact your priest to discuss having a scholarship arranged.

The total amount must be prepaid to Birmingham Catholic Engaged Encounter in order to reserve your space on the weekend. Payment options:

• PayPal - Reservation is confirmed immediately, but costs an additional $8.00 PayPal service fee.
• Mail - Check or money order must be received no later than the Friday before the weekend you plan to attend. Please include an alternate date you can attend in case the weekend fills prior to your registration being received.
